Promega offer an extensive line of assays and reagents for determining cell viability and cytotoxicity in monolayer cell cultures, 3D micro-tissues and primary cells. Many assays can be multiplexed with apoptosis and other assays to determine mechanism of cell death and compare data from well-to well, plate-to-plate and day-to-day - helping you get results that take you closer to publication.

The CellTiter-Glo is a highly sensitive luminescent assay with broad linearity used for assessing cell viability.
Whether you perform cell viability assays in a single plate or process hundreds of plates at a time, the ready-to-use CellTitre-Glo reagent is designed for fast and easy everyday use. It is amenable to high-throughput formats and multiplexing with other Promega assays (see more below).
The CellTiter-Glo® 3D Cell Viability Assay is designed for determining cell viability in 3D microtissue spheroids using the original CellTitre-Glo technology.
The assay reagent penetrates large spheroids and has increased lytic capacity—allowing more accurate determination of viability compared to other assay methods. The simple, 30-minute protocol and ready-to-use reagent allows for fast results.
Rapidly detect changes in cell viability with the RealTime-Glo™ MT Cell Viability Assay.
The assay measures the reducing potential of viable cells, and is ATP-independent, providing an orthogonal method for viability or cytotoxicity determination. Add the assay reagent to cells during plating, during treatment or at the end of treatment. Save time as no cell washing or media removal is needed. The nonlytic nature and rapid response of the assay make it possible to monitor cell viability over time in the same well, and enables easy multiplexing with other cell-based assays or downstream applications.
The CellTox™ Green Cytotoxicity Assay provides an easy, fast and accurate method to determine toxic effects during or after long-term exposure of cells in culture.
CellTox™ Green is a fluorescent DNA binding dye that binds DNA upon cell death and generates a stable signal that can be measured up to 72 hours in real-time cytotoxicity assays.
