Applications | The antibodies can be used in Western Blot, ELISA, immunocytochemistry, and immunohistochemistry assays of the human follicle stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR). |
Storage Conditions | liquid nitrogen vapor phase |
Derivation |
Animals were immunized with recombinant human follicle stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR) expressed in E. coli. Spleen cells were fused with Sp2/0 mouse myeloma cells. |
---|---|
Genes Expressed | immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against human follicle stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR), extracellular domain |
Cellular Products | immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against human follicle stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR), extracellular domain |
Tumorigenic | Yes |
Effects | Yes, forms ascites in BALB/c mice |
Comments |
The antibody recognizes the N-terminal extracellular domain (amino acids domain 23-358) of the human follicle stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR) (hormone binding unit). The FSHR-18 (ATCC CRL-2688) and the FSHR-323 (ATCC CRL-2689) antibodies are additive. They recognize different epitopes. The FSHR-323 antibody inhibits hormone binding and the hormone-induced activation of adenylate cyclase but the FSHR-18 antibody does not. |
Complete Growth Medium | Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium with 4 mM L-glutamine adjusted to contain 1.5 g/L sodium bicarbonate and 4.5 g/L glucose, 90%; heat-inactivated horse serum, 10% |

Subculturing | Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 2 x 105 viable cells/mL. Maintain cell density between 2 x 105 and 1 x 106 viable cells/mL.Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density). |
Cryopreservation | Culture medium 95%; DMSO, 5%. Cell culture tested DMSO is available as ATCC Catalog No. 4-X. |
