The IVT LABFLOWTM glass fermenter is highly user-friendly and straightforward to operate. The system effectively maintains key process parameters, including temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen, and supports stable fed-batch operation through reliable pump control. Growth performance of tested strains has been comparable to established fermenters, demonstrating suitability for a wide range of standard applications. For more demanding processes, further optimisation and system configuration can be tailored to meet specific process requirements.

The LABFLOW™ bioreactor supported Pichia pastoris fed-batch cultivation to high cell density, reaching approximately 70 g/L dry cell weight in our first run. The system showed good potential for high-cell-density processes, although DO control required optimisation and some manual adjustment during setup and operation.
The incubator seemed sturdy and easy to use. Although it was placed on the ground, removing and adding flasks was simple with the sliding platform. The controls were simple and the touchscreen reactive while using gloves which was important. The space heated up quickly and maintained temperature well. We appreciated the ability to turn on and off the light. The user log-in function is a good feature for quality control, ensuring that the settings are not changed during use.
