INFORS HT - Online cell density and biomass
home
For all INFORS HT bioreactors we provide you with solutions for the online detection of cell densities and biomass. By doing so, you get a better understanding of your processes without manually taking a sample. The collected data is available for both, the touchscreen controller and eve®. Consequently, it can also be used for automatically adjusting process parameters. The ideal sensors will be chosen for your application from the following standard solutions:

The Optek near infrared (NIR) absorption sensors ASD12-N and ASD25-N determine the total cell density. The sensors operate at 840 to 910 nm, eliminating the influence of colour changes in the cultivation media. The sensors are available for 12 mm ports for use in Labfors 5 and Multifors 2 as well as 25 mm ports for use in Techfors and Techfors-S. The compact transmitter is installed inside the base unit of the bioreactor, leaving more space for your work around the bioreactor.

Alternatively, Mettler InPro 8100 sensors can be used for the determination of the total cell density. The sensor uses backscattered light technology, allowing for a wider linear measuring range. The sensors are connected to the bioreactor using an external Mettler M800 transmitter.

For determining the viable cell density, sensors from ABER Instruments can easily be connected to INFORS HT bioreactors.
